The Society’s purpose is to help Seafarers children who are in full-time education and the families are in severe financial difficulties. The majority of the families we support are single parent. However we do support two parent families where one of the parents is too ill or disabled to work and the other acts as the carer.

Do you have a school age child(ren)?You must be the person receiving Child Benefit for the child(ren) |

Have you served at sea?
One of the child’s parents must have served in the Royal or Merchant Navy or in the Fishing Fleets. Usually this is the father or mother of the child(ren). In exceptional circumstances, we may consider the child’s grandparents or guardian. |

Are you in receipt of one of the following means tested state benefits?
The applicant must be in receipt of one or more of the following means tested benefits:
-Income Support.
-Housing Benefit
-Council Tax Benefit. (other than single person’s 25% discount or disablement reduction) |
